Welcome to the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast — where we ditch alcohol, heal deeply, and step into our God-given purpose. Hey Sister — let’s get honest. Are you tired of waking up at 3am with your heart racing, your mind spinning, and that pit in your stomach that whispers “What’s wrong with me?” You hide it well. You show up, you smile, you juggle all the things. But behind the scenes, you’re stuck in this cycle: Drink, regret, repeat. And deep down, you know it’s costing you — your peace, your purpose, your joy, and your connection with God. I’m Michelle Porterfield — a faith-fueled, no-nonsense coach who helps Christian women break free from the grip of alcohol, heal what’s underneath it, and create a life they actually want to wake up to. I’ve walked this road. I know the fear, the shame, and the lies the enemy loves to whisper. And I also know the freedom waiting for you on the other side. This podcast is your safe, faith-filled space to get real, do the work, and become the woman God created you to be — bold, healed, and completely set free. If you’re ready, let’s do this. As we head into the July 4th holiday, I want to ask you a simple question:
Do you feel free?
Not the kind of freedom we celebrate as a country.
The kind of freedom you experience in your everyday life.
Do you feel free to make choices that align with your values?
Do you feel free to show up as the woman God created you to be?
Or do you sometimes feel pulled along by habits, expectations, and patterns you've never fully questioned?
For many women, holidays can be revealing.
Not because anything is wrong with celebrating.
But because holidays often shine a light on the places where we're operating on autopilot.
"It's a special occasion."
"Everyone else is doing it."
"I'll start again next week."
Sound familiar?
This year, instead of focusing on being perfect, I want to invite you to become curious.
Ask yourself:
-
What am I expecting alcohol to do for me?
-
How do I want to feel when the day is over?
-
What would make me proud tomorrow morning?
-
Am I making intentional choices or automatic ones?
Because freedom isn't about restriction.
Freedom is about having the ability to choose.
And if you've been thinking about getting support but telling yourself you'll wait until fall, I want you to know you don't have to spend the summer drifting, starting over, or feeling disappointed in yourself.
This is exactly why I created the Summer Growth Pass.
It's a chance to receive coaching, accountability, and support through the months when so many women lose momentum.
Imagine arriving at Labor Day feeling stronger, clearer, and more confident instead of wondering where the summer went.
If that's what you're looking for, I'd love to support you.
Praying you experience a deeper kind of freedom this week.

379\\ Joy Isn’t a Feeling — It’s Your Weapon! (Especially When Life Feels Hard)
Thursday Jun 25, 2026
Thursday Jun 25, 2026
Most women think they need to feel better before they can change.
More motivated.
More confident.
More “ready.”
But that’s the trap.
Because if your progress depends on how you feel…
you will keep circling the same patterns every time life gets hard.
That’s exactly why I recorded this week’s podcast episode:
“Joy Isn’t a Feeling — It’s Your Weapon (Especially When Life Feels Hard)”
Inside, I break down something most women have never been taught:
Joy is not the reward for getting your life together.
It’s the thing that actually helps you stay steady while you do it.
Because let’s be honest…
If you’re trying to stop overdrinking, heal old patterns, or grow into the woman you know you’re called to be—
There are going to be days that feel uncomfortable.
Days where your emotions are loud.
Days where nothing seems to be “working” yet.
And if you’re relying on happiness to carry you through that?
You won’t last.
But joy?
Joy grounds you.
Joy stabilizes you.
Joy reminds you who you are when everything in you wants to run.
This is the shift that changes everything.

378 \\ Why You Crave Alcohol During Happy Moments!
Monday Jun 15, 2026
Monday Jun 15, 2026
You expected cravings during stress.
But nobody warned you about the cravings during the GOOD moments.
The beach trip.
Date night.
Girls’ night.
Friday evening.
Celebrations.
Vacation.
And suddenly your brain says:
“Wine would make this better.”
Here’s what’s actually happening:
Your brain built associations between alcohol and:
✨ reward
✨ relaxation
✨ fun
✨ connection
✨ freedom
That doesn’t mean alcohol is your soulmate.
It means your brain learned a pattern.
And patterns can be rewired.
In today’s podcast episode, I’m breaking down:
-
what’s happening in the brain
-
why happy moments trigger cravings
-
how dopamine and habit loops work
-
why sobriety can feel “flat” at first
-
practical ways to create joy without alcohol
-
how to stop romanticizing drinking
You do NOT need alcohol to validate that a moment matters.
The moment already matters.
And the beautiful part?
Many women eventually realize they experience MORE joy sober because they’re finally fully present for their life.

377 \\ The Real Reason Your Confidence Is Struggling.
Thursday Jun 11, 2026
Thursday Jun 11, 2026
Most women don't plan to stay stuck.
They don't wake up and decide:
"Let's spend another season avoiding what's really bothering me."
But that's often what happens.
Life gets busy.
Schedules fill up.
The days start running together.
The drinking continues.
The distractions multiply.
And before you know it, summer is over.
Then September arrives with a familiar feeling:
Regret.
Regret that nothing really changed.
Regret that you spent another season putting yourself last.
Regret that the goals, healing, and growth you wanted somehow got pushed aside again.
Here's the question I've been thinking about:
What will this summer cost you if nothing changes?
What will it cost your peace?
Your health?
Your relationships?
Your confidence?
Your purpose?
Imagine instead arriving at the end of summer feeling stronger, clearer, more grounded, and proud of the commitments you kept to yourself.
That's why I've opened a few spots for summer coaching.
Whether you're a former client interested in the Summer Growth Pass or you're new and curious about getting support , I'd love to help you create a different ending to this summer.

Here are those journal questions I promised:
-
If nothing changes between now and Labor Day, how will I feel about myself?
-
What promises have I been making to myself that I continue to break?
-
What is it costing me emotionally to keep repeating the same patterns?
-
How is overdrinking affecting my confidence and trust in myself?
-
How is it impacting my relationship with God?
-
What opportunities, experiences, or growth am I missing because I keep postponing change?
-
If I continue exactly as I am for the next 90 days, what will likely be different? What will likely stay the same?
-
What would I be most proud of if I looked back on this summer in September?
-
What support do I need that I'm currently not giving myself?
-
What's one decision I know I need to make today?
Bonus Question:
If I knew freedom, growth, and healing were possible, what would I do next?

376 \\ Looking Back Without Shame: God’s Grace in the Seasons You Stayed Too Long.
Thursday May 28, 2026
Thursday May 28, 2026
Have you ever looked back at a season of your life and thought:
“What was I doing?”
“Why did I stay so long?”
“How did I not see it?”
Maybe it was a relationship.
A job.
A pattern.
A season of drinking.
A version of yourself you barely recognize now.
And now that you’re on the other side, there’s clarity.
You can see the red flags.
You can see what hurt you.
You can see what you tolerated.
You can see how disconnected you were from yourself.
But instead of letting that clarity become wisdom…
a lot of women turn it into shame.
That’s what we’re talking about on this week’s episode of the Set Free Sisterhood podcast.
Because the truth is:
You are judging your past self with wisdom you only gained because you survived that season.
You were not the same woman then that you are now.
You didn’t yet have:
– the awareness
– the healing
– the boundaries
– the emotional capacity
– the nervous system safety
– the spiritual growth
And even in the seasons where you stayed too long, settled, coped, negotiated, or kept trying to make something work…
God was still there.
Not absent.
Not withholding.
Not waiting for you to “get it together.”
Working.
Positioning.
Teaching.
Revealing.
Preparing.
This episode is about releasing regret without avoiding responsibility.
It’s about learning from your past without living under it.
It’s about recognizing that freedom gives you perspective you simply didn’t have before.
And maybe…
The fact that you can see it clearly now is proof that you’re no longer who you used to be.

I love this podcast episode with a hormone health coach Traci Pyrz, and wow… this conversation was eye-opening.
We talked about:
-
how alcohol impacts the liver and hormone balance
-
why your liver always has to process alcohol first
-
everyday toxins that may be disrupting hormones
-
ingredients like “fragrance” that can hide hundreds of chemicals
-
how certain products can mimic estrogen in the body
-
simple swap-outs for your home and body care products
-
why this is NOT about perfection or fear
This episode isn’t about becoming obsessive.
It’s about getting curious.
Because so many women are exhausted, inflamed, anxious, struggling with skin issues, weight gain, brain fog, mood swings, low energy… and nobody is helping them connect the dots.
Your body is constantly talking to you.
This conversation will help you start paying attention in a different way.
And honestly? Once you learn this stuff, you start looking at your environment, habits, and products with new eyes.
Small changes matter.
You do not have to overhaul your whole life overnight.
Start with awareness.
Start with one swap.
Start with one better decision.
I’d love to hear what stood out to you most after listening.
Here's how you can connect with Traci:
Traci Pyrz is an occupational therapist, hormone health coach, and wellness educator passionate about helping women reconnect with their bodies through simple, sustainable low-tox living. After walking through her own journey with infertility and hormone imbalance, she began learning more about the impact of what we put on, in and around our bodies and how that impacts our health.
Through her platform, she shares approachable education, practical wellness swaps, and faith-rooted encouragement to help women feel less overwhelmed and more empowered in their health journey. Her heart is to help women support their hormones, create healthier homes, and care for themselves with grace instead of perfection.

374 \\ Be the First Giant Killer: How Your Breakthrough Changes Generations
Monday May 11, 2026
Monday May 11, 2026
There’s something you need to understand before you make your next “I’ll try again” promise to yourself…
This isn’t just about drinking.
Or habits.
Or getting your life together.
This is about what stops with you… and what continues because you didn’t.
Most women are not stuck because they can’t change.
They’re stuck because they keep managing the very thing that’s keeping them bound.
“I’ll cut back.”
“I’ll start Monday.”
“It’s not that bad.”
That’s not freedom. That’s delay.
And every time you delay it… it grows.
Here’s the truth most people won’t say:
Giants don’t just appear — they’re allowed.
Avoided.
Minimized.
Pushed off.
Until one woman decides:
“This ends with me.”
That’s what made David different.
It wasn’t strength.
It wasn’t experience.
He was just the only one willing to step forward when everyone else stayed stuck in fear.
And when he took Goliath down, something shifted…
It wasn’t just a win.
It became proof.
After that, other men started killing giants too — because now they had a reference point.
Now they believed it was possible.
This is how it works.
One woman’s breakthrough becomes another woman’s permission.
So if you’ve been sitting there thinking:
“I just need more time”
“I’ll figure it out eventually”
“I’ll try again soon”
I’m going to challenge you:
What if you’re not waiting for the right moment…
What if you’re avoiding the decision?
Because freedom doesn’t come from trying harder.
It comes from deciding differently.
That’s exactly why I created The Collective.
Not for women who want to just “cut back.”
Not for women who want to stay in the cycle but feel a little better about it.
This is for the woman who is done circling the same mountain
and is ready to become the one who changes the pattern — for good.
Inside The Collective:
You don’t do this alone
You don’t rely on willpower
You don’t keep starting over
You become the woman who follows through.
We start May 13th. It’s 6 weeks. And it will require something from you — honesty, commitment, and a real decision.
But if you’re ready for that?
This is your moment.

Don’t overthink it. You’ve done enough of that already.
Make the decision your future self will thank you for.
Because this doesn’t just impact you.
It never did.

373\\ The 18-Minute Rule That Can Stop a Drinking Urge in Its Tracks.
Thursday May 07, 2026
Thursday May 07, 2026
Most women think they have a drinking problem.
They don’t.
They have an urge problem… and a response problem.
Because here’s what no one tells you:
An urge to drink isn’t permanent.
It’s not even that powerful.
It’s a wave.
It rises… peaks… and passes.
Sometimes in as little as 15–20 minutes (shoutout to Annie Grace and This Naked Mind for bringing language to this 🙌).
But what do we do?
We don’t wait.
We don’t question it.
We don’t get curious.
We OBEY it.
And in that moment, we trade:
→ peace
→ clarity
→ self-trust
→ the version of us we actually want to become
…for a feeling that was going to pass anyway.
Let me ask you something real:
Are you really willing to give up the woman you’re becoming…
for 18 minutes of discomfort?
Because that’s the deal.
Not forever.
Not even the whole night.
Just a small window where your brain is loud, uncomfortable, and looking for relief.
And every time you don’t give in?
You’re not just skipping a drink.
You’re:
✔️ rewiring your brain
✔️ building discipline
✔️ becoming a woman who keeps her word to herself
So next time the urge hits, don’t panic.
Pause.
Say: “I’m having an urge.”
Set a timer for 18 minutes.
And just… watch what happens.
You might be surprised how powerful you actually are.
If you’re ready to stop the cycle for good and actually understand what’s driving it, that’s the work we do inside my programs.

372 \\ Why You Keep Starting Over (And How to Actually Stay Consistent)
Thursday Apr 23, 2026
Thursday Apr 23, 2026
If you’ve ever told yourself…
“I’ll start again Monday.”
This episode is for you.
Because here’s the truth most people won’t say—
You don’t keep starting over because you don’t care.
And it’s not because you lack discipline.
It’s because when life actually hits—
stress, emotions, boredom, that “just one won’t hurt” thought…
You don’t have a different response yet.
So you fall back into the same pattern.
I just released a new podcast episode breaking this down:
👉 why this cycle keeps happening
👉 and what actually needs to change if you want it to stick
And if you’re listening and thinking…
“Yeah, this is exactly what I do—but I don’t know how to change it in the moment”
That’s exactly what we work on inside the Sisterhood Collective.
This is a 6-week coaching space where I help you:
– stop the start/stop cycle
– handle urges and emotions in real time
– and finally build consistency that lasts
We start in May.
Wednesdays at 1PM EST.
If you’re ready to stop doing this on your own, you can grab your spot here:

P.S. You don’t need another “Day 1.”
You just need support in the moments that normally take you out.
